Were your parents Israeli citizens? The children of people who were previously citizens of Israel, but have since revoked their citizenship are faced with a unique challenge when re-applying for Israeli citizenship.<\/p>\n

If you are not an Israeli citizen at present but were one as a child or had two Israeli parents, it is entirely possible your citizenship was revoked when your parents renounced their citizenship. If this is the case, you may be eligible to reapply for Israeli citizenship.<\/p>\n

Who is eligible to reestablish citizenship? <\/strong><\/h4>\n

\"Re-applyingNot everyone is eligible to apply for this type of citizenship. Citizens who have voluntarily renounced their citizenship are generally advised that there are no “take-backs”. However, if your citizenship was previously revoked as part of your parents\u2019 renunciation of citizenship, while you were under the age of 18, you may apply<\/a> to regain it.<\/p>\n

You may also apply for Israeli citizenship if you were born to two Israeli parents, outside of the state of Israel. Applicants must be between the ages of 18 and 22 years old when submitting the application.<\/p>\n

What documents are required when re-applying for Israeli citizenship?<\/strong><\/h4>\n

  • Both Israeli Parents ID numbers<\/li>\n
  • The applicant\u2019s current passport or travel document<\/li>\n
  • A letter detailing the circumstances involved in the revocation and why the applicant desires to regain their citizenship<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n
